Man killed in Barstow apartment complex fire; several families displaced
BARSTOW — Authorities said a man died when a fire erupted at an apartment complex here early Sunday morning. Vashaud Williams, 22, of Barstow, lost his life in the blaze, which occurred at the Alfa Apartment Complex at 2011 Borrego Drive, Barstow Police Department and Fire Protection District officials stated Monday.
Three People Injured After They Say Suspected Drunken Driver Smashed into their Car in Oakdale
The Oakdale Police Department says the collision took place on Highway 108 just east of Stearns Road last Wednesday. The siblings say they were on their way to Oakland when a woman — they say was drunk — crashed into their car. Now they want the city of Oakdale to put some sort of stop in the intersection to prevent crashes.
Man killed in crash on 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch
A 34-year-old man riding in a van was killed when the vehicle rear-ended a disabled tractor trailer on the right shoulder of the 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch, the California Highway Patrol said today. The crash on the eastbound freeway, just east of Porter Ranch Road, was reported at about 12:15 p.m. Friday, according to the CHP.

Three people were killed and three others hospitalized after two cars were involved in a head-on crash in Hemet early Sunday morning. Authorities said around 1:35 a.m. the dispatch center received calls about a car crash near Florida Avenue and Lake Street.
